The
Hamlet Country Club, Delray Beach, FL USA
Designed in 1972 by golf architect, Joe Lee,
and opened for play in 1973, The Hamlet Country
Club is an 18-hole regulation length golf course
located in the private gated-community of The
Hamlet in Delray Beach, FL, a city within Palm
Beach County.
In
the winter of 2008, the Green Committee
contracted the services of Ian Scott-Taylor
to complete an in-depth study and report
on a Long Range Improvement Plan for each
of the 18-holes and the course as a whole
that encompasses the spirit of Joe Lee’s
original design. The
schedule provides for Scott-Taylor to present
his findings and recommendations to the committee
in the spring of 2008.
Foxfield
Clubhouse Community, Garnet Valley, PA
USA
Foxfield’s
is a new 55+ community being developed by
the award-winning The McKee Group that is
located 20 miles outside of Philadelphia
in the rolling hills of the beautiful Brandywine
Valley.
In
2007, McKee contracted Ian Scott-Taylor Golf
Architect LLC to design and build an innovative
6-hole Old World Style golf course to support
the 55+ lifestyle at Foxfield’s, which
also includes a clubhouse, pool, and tennis for
residents.
Construction
was completed in late summer 2007 and the
course will be open for play in summer
2008. It acts as a centerpiece in the marketing
efforts of closing sales on remaining single
family, carriage style, and villa homes in
the Foxfield Clubhouse Community.
Farmingbury
Hills Golf Course, Wolcott, CT USA
Built
in 1920, the Farmingbury Hills Golf Course
is a 9-hole public golf course located in
the residential community of Wolcott, a town
in the Connecticut county of New Haven. Ian
Scott-Taylor began working with the Wolcott town
council in 2007 to discuss the remodel needs
of the 9-hole course.
Scott-Taylor will present
conceptual drawings to the council in the winter
of 2008 for discussion and review. Work on Farmingbury
Hills Golf Course is expected to take place throughout
2008.
